Age
Achieving Age Equality in Health and Social Care
‘In April 2009 the Secretary of State for Health asked Sir Ian Carruthers and Jan Ormondroyd to lead a review of age discrimination and age equality in health and social care, prior to the Equality Bill becoming law. The review published its report today, setting out its recommendations for actions to take. A government response will be consulted upon later in the year.’ (Department of Health, The Week, 16 – 22 October 2009)’ – report available here.
Older people (Department of Health Report)
The Department’s policy for older people and their carers seeks to promote social inclusion and control over their lives, ensuring respect and choice. This enables older people to live independently for as long as possible, benefit from tailored care and support, and experience an enhanced quality of life.
For toolkit, guidance forms and assessments see Equality Impact Assessment section.
