Designated date for receipt of applications

Applications may be submitted at any time but the date of receipt of applications is set as 12 noon on the third Wednesday of each month when processing of applications will begin (“the Designated Date”), with the following exceptions:

  • applications for changes of ownership and relocations of less than 500 metres are normally dealt with as soon as possible after receipt though may, at NHS Norfolks discretion be held until the Designated Date.
  • there will be no Designated Date in December. Any applications received in December will be dealt with on the first Designated Date of the following month.

Where applications are held until the Designated Date the administrative timescales, particularly in respect of determining applications, set out in the regulations will commence on that date as set out above. Applications received before the Designated Date will be held confidentially until processing commences on the Designated Date. Applications received after the Designated Date in one month will be held confidentially until processing commences on the Designated Date of the following month.

In the event that more than one application is received for the same area in a particular month NHS Norfolk has discretion under the regulations to consider two or more applications together in relation to each other. NHS Norfolk will consider all the evidence provided about the competing applications and where all aspects are equal between the competing applications, NHS Norfolk will determine competing applications on the date and time that the first application was received (based on the “first past the post” principle).
