Assistant Practitioner Toolkit
Following consultation through the membership of the Norfolk and Suffolk Transitional Workforce Group, NHS Norfolk utilised SWIFT funding to facilitate the development of an Assistant Practitioner Tool Kit. The purpose of this toolkit is to assist in the implementation of Assistant Practitioners (AP’s) across Norfolk.
The Tool Kit is divided into 4 sections
- Planning an up to date workforce to support service delivery
- Creating a Business Case to Assist in the Implementation of an Assistant Practitioner Role
- Developing an Assistant Practitioner Job Description
- Competencies including a Core Competency Framework
These sections can be used individually or as part of the whole Tool Kit.
You can also download a copy of the Report on the Assistant Practitioner Project, which identifies the governance that is needed to implement the AP role in Health, Social Care and Mental Health settings. The recommendations within the report are being moved forward by the NHS Norfolk and Waveney Assistant Practitioner Working Group.
