Brief biography - Alan Hough (Chief Information Officer)

Alan HoughQualifications:

  • BA in Mathematics and Computer Science, University of York,1976.

Alan joined the PCT in January 2010 and leads the Information Management and Technology (IM&T) functions which support commissioning operations and service delivery. This includes Business Intelligence, IT support, Projects Office, Registration Authority, Software Development and Training. Current major programmes include Summary Care Records, SystmOne implementation and the review of IT services for our community provider NCH&C. Alan is also reviewing opportunities for Data Warehouse and associated systems to further support improvements in the PCT’s World Class Commissioning processes.

Alan has worked in IT since graduating in 1976. Before joining the NHS he was Director of ICT for Norfolk Constabulary representing Eastern Region Police forces on the National Service Management Board. He also worked in the private sector for many years, including Anglia Television and Moneyfacts.

Outside work Alan enjoys spending time with his wife and four children, is a very keen table tennis player (being a long-standing club chairman of one of the top clubs in Norwich) and loves travelling.
