Brief biography - Dr Anoop Dhesi
Having qualified at Cambridge University, Anoop took part in the Norwich GP training scheme, after which he started work at Staithe Surgery in Stalham, where he has been a Partner for 18 years. His first interest beyond General Practice was in teaching, and he continues to be involved in the GP training scheme.
Since 1998 Anoop has been involved in local NHS development. He chaired the original Broadland Primary Care Group (PCG), then North Norfolk PCG, and saw it through to becoming a Trust. He served on the Trust Board in roles including Clinical Governance lead, and Chair of the Professional Executive Committee.
During the last 6 years he has been leading on the involvement of primary care in commissioning in North Norfolk, initially through Practice Based Commissioning, and latterly in setting up the North Norfolk Clinical Commissioning Group.
