Data analysis and interpretation

The way you analyse your data will depend upon what sort of data you have collected; qualitative, quantitative, or a mixture of both. It is best if you have worked out how you will analyse your data as you design your research, and not leave it until you have collected all the data and are ready to write up. As part of writing your research proposal, you should have detailed how the data will be analysed.

You should be aware that different people will interpret data different ways, and there may not be one single, right answer, particularly with the interpretation of qualitative data. You will need to make the case for why your data analysis and interpretation has led you to certain conclusions. You can find more advice about data analysis and interpretation here.
