Disability Equality Scheme

Print version: Disability Equality Scheme November 2006 to November 2009

The New Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) 2005 comes into force in December 2006. It places a duty on all public sector bodies to promote disability equality and for the first time ever, brings in a statutory requirement for public bodies to involve disabled people in assessments of services and facilities.

NHS Norfolk’s first Disability Equality Scheme was approved by the Board at its November 2006 meeting.

We endeavour to ensure that our services and the information we provide are accessible to people with disabilities.

We can provide published material in different formats for people with visual impairments. British Sign Language interpreting and lipspeaking is also available on request (see the information about INTRAN - communication for all).
