What is FarmWell

NHS Norfolk is working with the Norfolk Young Farmers Clubs to deliver the FarmWell project. FarmWell is a health and wellbeing project aimed at Farmers, growers and agricultural workers in Norfolk.

Farming is one of the most dangerous occupations in the UK. Farmers do a physically demanding job, often working long hours, in harsh conditions and in isolation. The sector is reliant on weather patterns so it is difficult for them to book health appointments. Many farmers have no colleagues to cover for absences or sickness, they ignore health warning signs until there is a more serious condition. These factors combine to make it difficult for farmers to keep themselves healthy and well.

The FarmWell project will pilot an outreach service that brings Health Services to Farmers at the Norfolk Show.
