HPV Immunisation Programme
NHS Norfolk’s HPV Vaccination Programme

Combined with cervical screening the Human papilloma virus (HPV) vaccination is an important step towards preventing cervical cancer. It is estimated that about 400 lives could be saved in the UK every year as a result of vaccinating girls before they are infected with HPV.
From September 2010 we started offering the HPV vaccination to the next wave of eligible girls in schools and colleges within the NHS Norfolk area.
The HPV vaccine is administered in three doses over a period of six months and all three doses are necessary for full protection.
