Norfolk and Suffolk Practice Education Facilitators (PEFs)

Suffolk team

About us
Norfolk has a multi professional team of Practice Education Facilitators (PEFs) who work alongside universities and placement areas. PEFs strive to enhance the quality and expand the volume of multi professional education, training and development. A PEFs primary role is to work with mentors and practice educators to ensure that the workforce of the future is appropriately prepared. PEFs work across professional boundaries and with all health care providers, including statutory organisations and those within the independent sector.
Much of the PEFs work is involved with supporting the implementation of professional body standards. The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Standards to support learning and assessment in practice (2008) are mandatory and have seen the introduction of sign off mentors and most recently the emphasis has been on triennial review.
These Standards are available to download from: http://www.nmcuk.org/Documents/Standards/nmcStandardsToSupportLearningAndAssessmentInPractice.pdf
For allied health professionals (AHP’s) the Standards of education and training are available to download from: http://www.hpc-uk.org/assets/documents/1000295EStandardsofeducationandtraining-fromSeptember2009.pdf
