Our work
Our vision is to provide a coherent approach to designing and educating our workforce that delivers safe, effective and responsive services in line with NHS Norfolk and Waveney’s and NHS Suffolk strategic plans.
CWG Work Plan
We are planning to achieve this vision by working towards the following three aims in our work plan:
To build up system capability and capacity to lead workforce change and address workforce hotspots.- To modernise the workforce to overcome skill shortages and support service redesign in identified priority areas.
- To improve education commissioning and governance to ensure workforce will be able to deliver planned changes in priority areas.
Main Areas of Work
Our main areas of work are:
- Development of the pre-professional workforce on pay bands 1 to 4, especially Apprenticeships and Assistant Practitioners, to support quality and productivity improvements and career progression.
- Pre-registration education commissioning to ensure the supply of sufficient newly qualified non-medical practitioners. View Workforce Planning for information about the evidence used to inform future workforce requirements.
- Management of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) for clinical staff to ensure alignment with strategic plans.
- Management of workforce development projects through the Strategic Workforce Investment for Tomorrow (SWIFT) funding stream.
- Developing Talent & Leadership across the county.
