Patient and Public Involvement in the development of the Aylsham Health Campus

In July 2008, the NHS Norfolk Board agreed the development of a new health campus for the people of Aylsham. The campus will be part of a larger site and will provide health services alongside a community centre and housing with care scheme.

About the Consultation

To ensure that NHS Norfolk fully involves local people in the development of the new health campus, a Community Involvement Panel (CIP) has been set up with members from the voluntary and community sector. The panel members were recruited with the help of Aylsham Town Council and Aylsham Care Trust.

As part of its role to involve the local community, the CIP looked at possible services to be delivered throughout the site and then asked local people if these proposals are right.

To reach the local people of Aylsham, the CIP developed questions for a telephone survey of 200 local people and a postal survey of 1,000 local people. NHS Norfolk commissioned the surveys which was carried out by Ipsos MORI.

The results of the surveys will be used to develop the services in the health campus.
