Patient Partnerships

The North Norfolk Patient Partnership (NNPP)

The North Norfolk Patient Partnership was formed to give patients at the practices in North Norfolk the chance to get involved with influencing and designing the future of their local healthcare.

General Practices in North Norfolk are working together through practice based commissioning (PBC) to look at identifying local health needs, and finding the best way of providing as many services as possible as locally as possible. In order to do this effectively the practices need to work with patients and their families and carers to identify key needs and priorities and help them contact local communities to gather feedback on proposals for new services.

The partnership was formed by bringing together patient representatives from each general practice in North Norfolk. Some practices recruited their patients from their existing Patient Participation Groups (PPGs), whilst those practices without groups already in existence have gone on to form permanent groups. To find out more read their first  event report.

NNPP holds patient events twice a year. To read the latest event reports and find out more about their work visit their website.

West Norfolk Patient Partnership (WNPP)

WNPP was first formed in 2000 to give the PPGs in West Norfolk practices a united voice and strategic overview. They met regularly with West Norfolk PCT and were represented on the PCT Board. Due to the reconfiguration of 5 local PCTs into NHS Norfolk in 2006, WNPP has now started the process of working with its local PBC Consortium to establish a regular system of feedback and dialogue on local health services. More information will be available here as this develops.
